California Cardiovascular Institute
Vascular Specialists
While many physicians list vascular conditions as part of the symptoms they treat, vascular specialists focus solely on the vascular health of their patients.
Cardiac Clearance
Providing you with cardiac clearance prior to surgery is an important process that must be done in a timely manner while ensuring your safety and comfort.
Cardiac Monitoring
Cardiac monitoring services provide a physician with information to better understand the condition of a patient’s heart and, ultimately, how to provide better care.
Cardiology Consult INR Monitoring
Prothrombin time (PT) is the time it takes for your blood to clot. International Normalized Ratio (INR) is the standard for ensuring that results are consistent, no matter what type of PT test is used. This is referred to as INR Monitoring, PT Monitoring, or PT/INR Monitoring; it is all the same. The goal of monitoring the effectiveness of doses of vitamin K antagonists, like Warfarin, is to remain in the target range recommended by your cardiologist. At California Cardiovascular Institute, we closely monitor your doses to ensure they are not too high, which can delay blood clots from forming and cause bruising or increased risk of bleeding; or too low, leaving you at risk of excessive clotting and possible stroke or other serious problems.
Vascular Consult
While many physicians list vascular conditions as part of the symptoms they treat, vascular specialists focus solely on the vascular health of their patients. The vascular specialists at California Cardiovascular Institute are specifically trained to diagnose and treat vascular conditions such as varicose veins, aortic aneurysms, carotid artery disease, deep vein thrombosis, peripheral artery disease (PAD), and many more vascular issues. With advanced education, clinical training, and experience, the specialists at California Cardiovascular Institute can offer the best care possible in treating vascular conditions.
Cardiac Clearance (Pre-Op)

Providing you with cardiac clearance prior to surgery is an important process that must be done in a timely manner while ensuring your safety and comfort. We provide EKG, Echo, Regular Stress Test, Stress Echo, or Nuclear Stress Test and handle all communication with your referring doctor to ensure a smooth process in preparing for your surgery.

Cardiac Monitoring Types
Pacemaker/ICD Monitoring
California Cardiovascular Institute provides ongoing care of adult and pediatric patients with a permanent pacemaker/cardiac defibrillator (ICD). We provide a complete evaluation of device function and communicate reports to the patient’s attending physicians. We also provide ongoing telephone monitoring of device function at appropriate intervals. California Cardiovascular Institute also conducts device evaluations to optimize device settings to meet the needs of any changes in the patient’s clinical condition and maximize device functionality. We provide both inpatient and outpatient consultations.
Holter Monitoring
Ambulatory electrocardiographic monitoring (Holter monitoring) uses a small recorder to track a patient’s heart rate, rhythm, conduction, ST-segments, or pacemaker function during usual activities. Event monitoring takes place over a specified period, from 24 hours up to a month if needed. We provide Holter monitoring and a cardiologist at California Cardiovascular Institute will review the monitor recording and send a final report to the patient’s physician.
